中欧班列能否促进国内区域经济协调发展——基于“双循环”新发展格局视角

本文基于2005—2019年中国城市层面数据,从双循环视角出发,将中欧班列视为一项准自然实验,探讨了其对区域经济协调发展的影响。研究发现,中欧班列开通显著提升了区域经济协调发展水平,且该影响存在空间辐射效应;异质性分析表明,中欧班列的促进作用在内陆地区和高创新水平城市中更为显著;机制分析表明,中欧班列通过畅通国内循环和增强国际循环,推动区域经济协调发展。

Abstract:

Based on city-level data from 2005 to 2019, this paper, from the perspective of the dual circ ulationframework, treats the China Railway Express(CRE) as a quasi-natural experiment to examine itsimpact on regional economic coordination development. The results show that the opening of the CRE has significantly improved the level of regional economic coordination development, with evident spatial spillover effe cts. Heterogeneity analysis further indicates that the promoting effect of the CRE is more prono uncedin inland regions and cities with high levels of innovation. Mechanism analysis reveals that the CREfosters regional economic coordination development by facilitating domestic circulation and strengthening international circulation.
